For players whose first experience of Netrunner is Null Signal’s System Gateway, Tāo can seem a bit of an underwhelming ID – he doesn’t give you credits, he doesn’t draw you cards, he doesn’t even remove ice, just moves it around? What gives? But then you play a few games as Tāo and “oh wow” you say “this feels pretty devious.” Claaaaaaaasic Shaper.

We set out to capture this feeling that Tāo’s ability seems pretty minimal until it comes out of nowhere you ruin a corp’s day. Tāo’s text is a glass effect and printed on transparent clear glossy vinyl, showing the refractions of light and his sneaky ice rearranging represented by the arrows hidden behind. Each arrow represents all the dastardly disruption Tāo can inflict on any corp, no matter their faction – yellow NBN, Green Weyland, Purple Haas-Bioroid, and Red Jinteki are all susceptible to your manipulation!
